Advancing Innovation & Strategy

WELCOME to the RAN & Transport Connectivity

Delivering Transport evolution in an all IP interconnected network with the convergence and alignment of RAN & Transport strategies

Transport Networks for Mobile Operators (TNMO) has offered trusted and exceptional case studies from telecoms operators and solution providers from across the globe for over 16 years to discuss how operators can upgrade and expand their networks.  In 2015 the event is focussing on RAN and transport connectivity and integration.  How will Access, the Transport Network and Core work together to deliver the required performance to meet the bandwidth and capacity challenge moving towards 5G and the IoT?  To deliver these low cost and efficient Access connectivity networks, Transport networks need to support all the Access technologies leading to a simplified natural evolution.  The event will investigate the challenges and solutions posed by Mobile backhaul and fronthaul, shorthaul access (DC interconnect), Fibre (GPON, WDM PON, FTTH, MPLS), Copper (DSL), wireless (Wi-Fi- licensed and unlicensed spectrum) & Ethernet.  Look at business and residential access.  vRAN vs cRAN, virtualised backhaul, SDN Lite, etc. What will happen as we move from 4G to 5G?  What will be the effect on transport networks and performance?

Emerging Topics and Key Discussions at TNMO 2015 will include:

  • Convergence and alignment of RAN & Transport strategies
  • Core transport evolution in an all IP interconnected network
  • Backhauling in 5G
  • Small cell backhaul deployments, front haul and self organising networks
  • Deployment techniques and technologies that could facilitate the deployment of fibre
  • Legacy infrastructure dismantlement challenge and opex savings objectives – striking a balance between performance and price balance
  • LTE Advanced – Capacity & latency requirements
  • How SDN & NFV will impact the mobile core and transport network architectures – How, where, when?
  • IPMPLS technology versus pure transmission technology development in the access/middle mile
  • Spectrum shortages & conservation

This conference is your chance to discuss and debate transport network evolution and have your say how networks will evolve to deliver next generation application and services.

“This was my first TNMO event and I was very impressed with the content.  The speakers were very knowledgeable and giving their experience” (RO, Imagine Communications)
